FLUXRECORDS opus 255 "The Rebirth of Expressionology" |
FLUXRECORDS opus 181 "The remarkable Zeena & Elliott made an album of electronic-strings material. I had just written some code to be able to compose on an old 80's drum machine. Again I wanted to hear essential sounds, sounds from obscure sources. They wanted a Remix. Here is what I did: super-synthesis of club vocabulary with two samples from their pre-release DAT so it would look like a rotating geodesic dome." |
FLUXRECORDS opus 151 "The most remarkable Peter commissioned this Remix in support of his release on the newly formed and then briefly experimental Metro Blue Records, a Capitol Records sub label." |
FLUXRECORDS opus 257 "In 2002 I received an email from Paul D. Miller (DJ Spooky), who was especially fond of my requiem for Iannis Xenakis called XENA/7.8 (2000/2001). He suggested that we get involved with a project about PI by John Sims for his MathArt Project. After we discussed some details, John sent me raw recordings of his voice speaking the numbers 0-9. Paul sent me a copy of "Haunted Beats", which contained breakbeats that he took from vinyl recordings or other sources. I then composed PI 31415 (2002) using a technique I was developing at this time called "Expressionlogy". The recordings were broken down into atomic and subatomic units of samples. To this array of sounds I added pure electronic voices, to form a continuum between organic and synthetic sounds. During the 3 minutes and 14 seconds of PI, these various sources transform into each other, freeform style. There are references to the DJ scratching technique, Filter Disco, and Max Headroom in the composition." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 210 "L.A.'s Tyrants commissioned a Remix, which in the city of angeles is called "additional production"" |
FLUXRECORDS opus 205 "Los Angeles loves Progressive Rock. So Tricky Business stems exclusively from single shot Gentle Giant instrument tones. Then re-composed, filtered and scored like pointillism to form a mini- drama, befitting for this city's taste." |
FLUXRECORDS opus 150 "Soft floating minimalism, the Remix of a Scherer/Gogan track. Sleepwalking out of time." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 166 "Fragments were taken from Alfred Harth's vinyl releases, then cloned and for the most part layered within an 1/8 note scale. The result is quite trippy." |
FLUXRECORDS opus 149 "A minimal tour de force made for 12-inch vinyl. Also recommended at high volumes." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 164 "Dance Floor Minimalism" |

FLUXRECORDS opus 148 "Remix is Composition. Corin took the plane from Paris to New York and the subway from
the East Village to Williamsburg. She had a cassette of her upcoming album in her pocket. We
listen to it and I took a sample that would lend itself to endless repetition. How about if I would
take a sample from each song of the album and produce a track that unfolds like a motion
picture? Then we took the subway back to the East Village and ended up somewhere, I forgot. So
here it is: a trip thru New York." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 174 "The most remarkable DJ Glove came up with the idea for what turned out to be a cult record. Bought by many, cherished by a few and understood by none. Or was it?" |

FLUXRECORDS opus 163 "Alfred asked me if I wanted to Remix his complete works and he send me copies of all of his vinyl records on about 10 Digital Audio Tapes. I sampled some key moments (with John Zorn a.o.) and then scored around the material a mirage that appears in the middle of the desert to a bunch of followers of the IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) sect. They could not really decipher what it meant or if it meant anything at all, but that might be due to dehydration. So drink some water before you listen." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 242 |
FLUXRECORDS opus 133 "Stop, Dave. I'm afraid ... I'm afraid ... I'm afraid, Dave ... Dave ... my mind is going ... I can feel it" |
FLUXRECORDS opus 263 "Funeral Remix in the "Old Style" (a.k.a. "pre-summer-02")" |
FLUXRECORDS opus 244 "minimal post-rock decay" |
FLUXRECORDS opus 24 "Total Pervers is German for Totally Perverted. Make no mistake about it, this is some serious magick mathematic-operatic metal. Right. Let's say some well formed cartoon made out of Motley Crue bytes. But wait, there's more. Brass, real Wagnerian Brass. But does this all add up? Yes. In the end everything will, well, it will end." |
FLUXRECORDS opus 260 "Intro to the aborted Continous Moers Mix Reissue Project" |
FLUXRECORDS opus 160 "Soundtrack to a 3D computer animated loop made by NYF&A for the introduction of the DVD in Las Vegas. Commissioned by Philips." |
FLUXRECORDS opus 187 "alchemical operations revisited" |
FLUXRECORDS opus 243 "Here is a high density of radically tuned guitars, ultra fuzz-land in the deep forest." |
FLUXRECORDS opus 191 "reduction, simplicity, concentration" |
FLUXRECORDS opus 262 The original MIDI-fied score by Hadyn was fed in real-time through an IFORMM algorithm which basically doubled octaves and randomized velocities. I edited the score in a manner that was usually reserved for club-Remixes: take a bar and repeat it for the propulsion effect. However, there are many starts, turns, stops and a Beethoven quote in here, making this a variation on variations, a great fun neo-modernism. The premier took place at THE EXTENDED PIANO: A Disklavier Festival (Knitting Factory, New York). |

FLUXRECORDS opus 186 "hcI is Ich backwards, Ich is German for I. Whatever you may have heard about backward tapes and the secret messages contain therein is all true. It is the idea that you can reverse time and start to move backward instead of forward, which would allow you to experience some sort of Utriusque Cosmi Historia or History of the Two Worlds. So here in hcI this process is applied to the 15 years older Ich." |
