FLUXRECORDS opus 161 "New York Film & Animation produced a preview version of a future Star Wars in an experimental 3D movie format which required no glasses to view. Because it was very expensive to produce the clip was extremely short. Only George Lucas and a few others owned the projection equipment required to view the piece. I had only a few hours to score something and quickly arranged a sample of the John Williams theme so it could be looped indefinitely and synced to my minimal techno beat. The bulk of the precious production time was spend on designing digital noise FX on the K2000 and inserting them into the "disco-fied" Williams loop. If you listen closely you will hear that the FXs are in fact sonic embellishment of the orchestra - a scratch/glitch percussion with asteroid wind. At the end I double up the theme with a Moog lead patch. The original version of this micro soundtrack had strong acid lines pulsating with the beat. These proved to be too much for the producers, who were already afraid that my music is too much of a "defacing" of the original soundtrack. Before they presented it to George Lucas at Skywalker Ranch I had to take out the acid lines and mix my treatment down. I never really found out what George thought of my sample and noise based approach, but one month later NYF&A asked me to do second soundtrack to an improved version of the film" |

FLUXRECORDS opus 155 "In Sanskrit Atman refers equally to the breath and the soul. Tidatidi reads Brooklyn like Sanskrit. So catch your breath." |
||
FLUXRECORDS opus 147 "The title is a reference to a Harald Fuchs photograph depicting a superimposition of primitive and scientific culture. As a piece of public performance art, Harald and I once flooded a gallery with milk." |
||
FLUXRECORDS opus 159 "More or less some sort of psychedelic techno with Mandala like forms and Ezekiel's wheels within wheels" |
||
FLUXRECORDS opus 148 "Remix is Composition. Corin took the plane from Paris to New York and the subway from
the East Village to Williamsburg. She had a cassette of her upcoming album in her pocket. We
listen to it and I took a sample that would lend itself to endless repetition. How about if I would
take a sample from each song of the album and produce a track that unfolds like a motion
picture? Then we took the subway back to the East Village and ended up somewhere, I forgot. So
here it is: a trip thru New York." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 157 "The rite of masonry is said to descend from the Atlantean mystery cults and passed down to the first builders in Egypt like a wheel intersecting a wheel." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 156 "A mood musical trip to the utopian society of Shangri-La" |

FLUXRECORDS opus 154 "And now get ready to smile." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 158 "Wacky post-post-modern soundtrack to a Silicon Graphics computer animation." |

FLUXRECORDS opus 160 "Soundtrack to a 3D computer animated loop made by NYF&A for the introduction of the DVD in Las Vegas. Commissioned by Philips." |
